James Perry Baggett, Sr.

Funeral services for James Perry Baggett, Sr., 74, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2018, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Neal Baggett will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be in Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Baggett passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
Mr. Baggett was born on December 8, 1943, in Cairo, GA, to the late Lazarus Nunn “Babe” Baggett and Johnnie Mae Godwin Baggett. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard and won trophies for expert marksman. On June 26, 1964, he married Jewell “Judy” King Baggett, who survives. He retired from Torrington after being a farmer and from sales and delivery. He was known to all as “Perry”. He loved fishing and hunting with his wife and family. Perry was an avid outdoors man, and he was most noted as a legend in wild hog hunting with friends and family and caring for his dogs.
Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Judy King Baggett of Cairo, GA; a son, James P. Baggett, Jr. (Deanna) of Cairo, GA; a daughter, Tammy Renee Baggett of Cairo, GA; grandson, Connor James Baggett of Cairo, GA; brother, Walter Horace Baggett (Joann) of Cairo, GA; sister, Hedy Donaldson (Ralph) of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Talmadge Eugene Baggett.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, February 26, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
