James “Teenie” Tilley

Funeral services for James Anthony Tilley, Jr., 76, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Long Branch Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jeff Ezell and Rev. Stacy Williamson will officiate. Military Honors will be presented at the church by the Grady County Honor Guard. Services will conclude at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Tilley passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
Active pallbearers will be Tony Brook, Wesley Beason, Michael Stephens, Tommy High, Kory High and Kaleb High. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Morrell and Ray Gainey.
Mr. Tilley was born on November 25, 1942, in Cairo, GA, to the late Mildred Sellars Williams. On June 11, 1999, he married Linda Hancock Tilley, who survives. He was owner and operator of Tilley Painting Contractors for over 50 years. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda Hancock Tilley of Cairo, GA; children, Terry Tilley (Kellie) of Cairo, GA, Heather Ireland (Aaron) of Meigs, GA, Nikki Evans of Cairo, GA, Michael High (Connie) of Cairo, GA, Todd High (Janet) of Athens, GA, Devon High (Melani) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Cross Tilley, T.J. Tilley, Heather Tilley, Crystal Tilley, Taylor Mathis, Caitlin Evans, Aubree Boykin, Bryce Boykin, Tommy High, Christy Anglin, Ana High, Mia High, Skyler High, Kory High, Kaleb High; 7 great-grandchildren; and sisters; Dorothy Baggett of Cairo, GA, Janne Kelly of Cairo, GA, Betty Joyce Griffin of Lake Wales, FL.
He was preceded in death by: his mother; daughter, Tammy Dean Wilson; granddaughter, Tina Marie Wilson; brother, Jimmy Tilley; and the mother of his children, Willowdean Sadler Tilley.
