James Walter French

Graveside funeral services for James Walter French, 81, of Thomasville, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2022, in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. David Roland will officiate.  Military Honors will be presented at graveside.  Mr. French passed away at the Residence at Oak Grove Assisted Living in Thomasville, GA, on Friday, August 12, 2022.

Mr. French was born on March 17, 1941, in Calvary, GA, to the late James Thomas “J.T.” French and Annie Mae Hand French.  After 20 years of service, he retired from the United States Army.  He was married to Eunice Jenkins Collins French, who preceded in death in 2016.  They were married for over 20 years. He was a member of Salem Seminole Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA.

Survivors include: his son, Tyler French of Thomasville, GA; brothers, Robert French (Carolyn) of Ochlocknee, GA; sister, Beverly Ann Horton of Thomasville, GA, Louise Anderson (Jim) of Dalton, GA, Betty Ashurst (Dana) of Statesboro, GA; host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eunice Jenkins Collins French.
