Funeral services for Jerry Franklin Dollar, 77, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2017, at New Home Freewill Baptist Church #2, Vada, GA. Rev. Jimmy Hooks will officiate. Interment will be in the Dollar Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mr. Dollar passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons and J. T. Rice.

Mr. Dollar was born on July 11, 1940, in Cairo, GA, to the late Edmond F. Dee Dollar and Margarete Hunt Dollar. On July 2, 1965, he married Olief Mae Dollar, who preceded him in death on February 27, 2005. He served his country in the Army Reserve. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include: his sons: Edmond Dollar (Marsha) of Whigham, GA, Guy Dollar (Jenny) of Thomasville, GA, John Dollar of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Carrie Dollar Collier (Scott) of Calvary, GA, Caleb Dollar of Whigham, GA, Josh Dollar of Thomasville, GA, Dalton Dollar of Thomasville, GA, Casey Dollar of Whigham, GA, Christopher Dollar of Whigham, GA; great-grandchildren, Asher Collier, Jonah Collier, both of Calvary, GA; and a sister, Judy Bryant of Quitman, GA.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; and sisters, Joy Collins, Gaye Moore.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Dollar’s memory to: New Home Freewill Baptist Church #2, 125 Church Road, Climax, GA 39834.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
