Jerry O’Neal Thomas

Graveside funeral services for Jerry O’Neal Thomas, 80, of Whigham, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, in Springhill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Rev. Charles Whatley will officiate.  Mr. Thomas passed away at his home on Sunday, July 25, 2021.

Mr. Thomas was born on August 16, 1940, in Whigham, GA, to the late Robert Henry Thomas and Estelle Vera Elkins Thomas.  On March 7, 1981, he married Debra Suzanne Trammell Thomas, who survives.  He served his country in the United States Army.  He was a graduate of Whigham High School.  He farmed for over 60 years.  He was of the Methodist family.

Survivors include: his wife, Debra Suzanne Thomas of Whigham, GA; children, Kim Gilliard (Stan) of Cairo, GA, JoAnna Thomas of Whigham, GA, Barry Bishop (Mia) of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Lauren Gilliard of Cairo, GA, Erin Gilliard of Cairo, GA, Hannah Elliott (Brett) of Bainbridge, GA, Mose Willis of Tallahassee, FL; great-grandchildren, Maddox Elliott, Baylor Elliott, Briggs Elliott, all of Bainbridge, GA; brother, Robert E. Thomas (Janice) of Whigham, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, William H. “Billy” Thomas; and sisters, Emily T. Hawthorne, Mary Ann Thomas, Donnie T. Blackburn and Rosa Nelle Thomas.
