Funeral services for Jerry Osborne Maxwell, 78, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Reno Baptist Church, Reno, GA. Rev. Carl Harrell and Rev. Jimmy Ausburn will officiate. Interment with Masonic Rites will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Maxwell passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Sunday, April 8, 2018.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Hammett, Mark Bryant, Timmy Watson, Richard Bell, Jimmy Rehberg and Walter Maxwell.

Mr. Maxwell was born on November 12, 1939, in Cairo, GA, to the late William Yancy Maxwell and Maggie Eula Ausburn Maxwell. On December 24, 1959, he married Erlene Bishop Maxwell, who survives. He was a truck driver with several companies until his retirement. He was a member of Reno Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Erlene Bishop Maxwell of Cairo, GA; daughters, Deborah Serapin (George) of Cairo, GA, Sandra Futch (Joey) of Thomasville, GA; son, Jerry Maxwell of Cairo, GA; granddaughter, Megan Futch of Thomasville, GA; brothers, Robert Maxwell of Whigham, Yancey Maxwell (Janice) of Whigham, GA; sisters, June Whigham of Whigham, GA, Grace Butler of Albany; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family including his beloved dog, Gracie.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and sisters, Nancy Maxwell and an infant sister.
