Jerry Ray Sullenberger
September 28, 1941 – February 18, 2021
Jerry Ray Sullenberger, 79, of Cairo, GA, passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Memorial services with Military Honors will be in the Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL 32311, on Monday, March 8, 2021. Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate. Guest and family members attending are required to wear protective masks in accordance with the rules of Tallahassee National Cemetery.
Mr. Sullenberger was born on September 28, 1941, in Los Angeles, CA, to the late Louis Edward Sullenberger, Sr. and Eva Lillian Cook Sullenberger. He served his country in the United States Army and received The Military Order of the Purple Heart three times. On June 17, 1995, he married Vivian Sullenberger, who survives. He was a consultant with the Florida Bar.
Survivors include: his wife, Vivian Sullenberger of Cairo, GA; children of his heart, Kent E. Wiginton (Candice) of Flowery Branch, GA, Kyle E. Wiginton (Christina) of Atlanta, GA, Keri E. Wiginton (Jeff Kidder) of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Ella Wiginton, Lily Wiginton and Eric Wiginton of Flowery Branch, GA, Evan Wiginton and Ellis Wiginton of Atlanta, GA; sister, Carole Shukle (Allan) of Deland, FL; sister-in-law, Judy Sullenberger of Tallahassee, FL; and nieces, Erin Burns (Matt) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Linda Powell of Tallahassee, FL and Kathy Pease (Kevin) of Riverview, FL.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Lou Sullenberger, Jr.
