Funeral services for Jessie Burks Womble, 79, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Bob Knight will officiate. Interment will be in Trinity Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mrs. Womble passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Thursday, January 10, 2019.

Active pallbearers will be Alan Womble, Keith Taylor, Carl Burks, Randy Burks, Alex Flowers and Patrick Blacklidge. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Pritchett, Daniel Womble, Henry Page and Wayne Johnson.

Mrs. Womble was born on January 10, 1940, in Rockford, AL, to the late Wesley Homer Burks and Prassie Ponder Burks. On March 23, 1957, she married Charles Womble, who survives. She retired from Kaiser Chemicals. She was a member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband of 61 years, Charles Womble of Cairo, GA; daughter, Charlotte Womble Salter (Kenneth) of Cairo, GA; son, Charles Wayne Womble (Theresa) of Crawfordville, FL; grandchildren, Allan Wayne Womble of Cairo, GA, Katie Salter of Cairo, GA, Daniel Womble of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Keith Taylor of Cairo, GA, Brandon Womble of Cairo, GA, Marleigh Womble of Cairo, GA, Tanner Womble, Landon Womble, Cooper Womble, all of Cairo, GA; brothers, William Emory Burks (Clarice) of Cairo, GA, Wesley Burks (Judy) of Cairo, GA; special friend, Vanessa Hunter of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ann Newling
