Funeral services for Jimmy Leroy Vickers, Sr., 59, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Ricky Pearson will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Vickers passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Jones, Stevie Davis, Ron Harrison, Wendell Odum, Ben Green, Peyton Tyler Harrison, Shannon Davis and Michael Stevens.
Mr. Vickers was born on July 8, 1964, in Cairo, GA, to the late Jesse Wilson Vickers and Mary Frances Mobley Vickers. On April 5, 1993, he married Pamela Tuggle Vickers, who preceded him in death on May 28, 2018. Jimmy was a master carpenter. He loved the outdoors hunting, fishing and working in his garden. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends.
Survivors include: children, Jimmy Vickers, Jr. (Brooke) of Cairo, GA; Jessica Johnson (Jeremiah) of Box Springs, GA, Jennifer Vickers of Box Springs, GA, Sommer Stevens (Chad) of Cairo, GA, Mitchell Cutchens (Gloria) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Jimmy Vickers, III of Cairo, GA, Trevor Vickers of Cairo, GA, Jada Vickers of Cairo, GA, Jaelah Johnson of Box Springs, GA, Jonah Johnson of Box Springs, GA, Tylan Britt of Cairo, GA, Joni Fuller of Box Springs, GA, Will Allen of Box Springs, GA, Thea Cutchens of Cairo, GA, Archer Cutchens of Cairo, GA; sisters, Patsy Riddles (Rodney) of Cairo, GA, Peggy Hancock of Cairo, GA, Teresa Phelps of Cairo, GA; brothers, Ricky Vickers of Cairo, GA, David Vickers of Cairo, GA; brother-in-law, Buddy Tuggle (Diane) of Cairo, GA; sister-in-law, Anne Mason (Charles) of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Pam Vickers; sisters, Linda Vickers Spencer, Deborah Ann Henley, Kathy Elaine Sellers; and a brother, Jesse Larry Vickers.
