Jody L. Green

Jody L. Green, 49, passed away peacefully in his home on, Wednesday, August 25, 2021, after fighting a long and arduous battle with cancer.
Mr. Green was born in Bainbridge, GA on October 31, 1971, to Lannis L. “Buz” and Jacquelyn “Jackie” Green. He was a 1990 graduate of Cairo High School. Jody worked many years as a contractor and took pride in his work, being a trustworthy and honest man. He loved helping those in need in any way when possible. Jody enjoyed fishing, especially salt water fishing and playing golf with his buddies, watching the Atlanta Braves play ball and he remained a faithful Auburn Tigers fan through thick and thin – “War Eagle!” In the midst of his cancer battle he was blessed with an angel, his side kick Wrigley, who brought him joy and comfort when it was needed most.
Being of the Christian faith he was ready to be called home and to join his loved ones who await his arrival. As per his wishes, no public service will be held. A private ceremony will be held by family at a later date.
Surviving family members include his wife, Angela (Angie) Kelly Green and children, son, Aidan and daughter, Avery; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Angie Stone Green, Baxley, GA; niece, Jaycee Green and fiancé Tanner Hall, Baxley, GA; in-laws, Ron and Lynette Reeves, Thomasville, GA and James and Ginger Kelly, Cairo, GA; brother- and sister-in-law, Shan and Cruci Kelly (nephews, Hunter and Harper Kelly), Miramar, FL. He also leaves uncles and aunts, Bo Greene, Melbourne, FL, and Bobby and Cindy Green, Cairo, GA; Annie Lee Singletary, Cairo, GA; and Sarah Newberry, Thomasville, GA; cousins, including those close to him, Ronnie (Dollie) Greene, Jacksonville, FL, and Lisa Singletary, Thomas County, GA. He leaves many close friends and extended relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
