Johnny Jenkins
August 9, 1944 – January 24, 2023

Memorial services for Johnny Jenkins, 78, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Dr. Larry Johnson will officiate.  Military Honors will be presented.  Mr. Jenkins passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on January 24, 2023, surrounded by his family and friends.

Mr. Jenkins was born on August 9, 1944, in Cairo, GA, to the late James Lonzo Jenkins and Karlene Jones Jenkins.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He served his country as a member of the special forces in the United States Army.  He was an avid fisherman and was the epitome of the saying “Ten foot tall and bulletproof.”  On Sept 24, 1965, married Evelyn Eaton Jenkins, who survives.  He retired as owner and operator of several used auto dealerships.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: his wife, Evelyn Jenkins of Cairo, GA; sons, Johnnie Jenkins (Cyndee) of Wasilla, AK, Allen Jenkins (Krystal) of Cairo, GA, Garcie Williamson of Crawfordville, FL; daughter, Felicia Lockler (Reggie) of Bristol, FL, Angela Lawson (David) of Moultrie, GA; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lowette Nehls (Bill) of Thomasville, GA, Peggy Hall (Barry) of Rocky Mountain, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brothers, Ronnie Jenkins, Mickey Jenkins; and sisters, Gwen Ann West, Cindy Sheridan.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
