Funeral services for Jospeh Marvin Byrd, 65, of Whigham, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2025, the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Mr. Byrd passed away at his home, Whigham, GA, on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Mr. Byrd was born on February 19, 1960, in Tallahassee, FL, to the late Edsel Alfred Byrd and Margie Darlene Reeves Pearce, who survives. On November 16, 1997, he married Caroly Marie Jensen Byrd, who survives, and they were married for over 27 years.

Joe attended Family Worship Center. He was a logger and loved to raise chickens and rabbits. He always had a large garden and loved to share what we grew. Fishing was his favorite past time.

Survivors include his mother, Margie Darlene Reeves Pearce of Whigham, GA; wife, Caroly Marie Byrd of Whigham, GA; daughter, Christian Byrd Walls of Ocala, FL; brothers, Edsel (Al) Byrd (Dolores) of Whigham, GA and Robert Byrd (Ethel) of Selma, AL; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edsel Alfred Byrd; brothers, Richard Robinson, Eddie Byrd and Donald Byrd.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Byrd’s memory to Archbold Hospice, 400 Albany Rd. Thomasville, GA 31792.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
