Juanita Bishop Stewart

Funeral services for Juanita Bishop Stewart, 97, of Cairo, GA, are on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate.  Mrs. Stewart passed away at Rose City Health and Rehab in Thomasville, GA, on Monday, March 29, 2021.

Mrs. Stewart was born at her home on June 15, 1923, in Cairo, GA, to the late James Albert Bishop and Mary Baggett Bishop.  On January 3, 1947, she married Horace Bundy Stewart, who preceded her in death on May 13, 1983.  They were married for 36 years.  She retired from Sunnyland Packing Company and enjoyed being a homemaker in her later years.  Juanita loved to can vegetables, make jelly and pickles, bake cakes and work in her flower beds.

Survivors include: her grandchildren, Al and Dee Willis of Vienna, GA, Melanie and Glenn Humphries of Ochlocknee, GA, Kim and Johnny Bradford of Chula, GA, Joey and Dianna Willis of Piedmont, SC, Kaye and Keith Sammons of Thomasville, GA; 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rosa Bishop of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; son, James Albert Stewart; daughter, Frances Geneva Willis; son-in-law, William Joseph Willis; and siblings, Eunice B. Griffin, Julia B. Andrews, Franklin Bishop, Dollie Bishop Sadler, George Bishop, Edwin Bishop, Sadie Bishop.
