Funeral services for Kenneth Gerald “Jerry” Thompson, 80, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chris Allen will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Thompson passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Sunday, July 14, 2019.
Active pallbearers will be Ray McGraw, Bill McGraw, Trey Harrell, Andrew Alford, Christopher Howell, Mo Wilson, Cooper Keve, Kevin Ross and James Jenkins.
Mr. Thompson was born on June 18, 1939, in Pelham, GA, to the late William Leonard Thompson and Bessie Mae Cooper Thompson. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard. On September 11, 1959, he married Beth Goza Thompson, who survives. They were married for 59 years. Until his retirement, he was a Grocery Buyer for Ira Higdon Grocery Company for 44 years. He was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Cairo where he served as deacon, choir member and trustee.
Survivors include: his wife, Beth Thompson of Cairo, GA; daughters, Kim Harrell (Keith) of Cairo, GA, Gina Wilson (Zack) of Cairo, GA, Kristi Keve (Kevin) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Trey Harrell of Thomasville, GA, Catherine Howell (Christopher) of Cairo, GA, Kaylee Alford (Andrew) of Tallahassee, FL, Anna Wilson of Thomasville, GA, Matthew “Mo” Wilson, Audrey Keve, Cooper Keve, all of Cairo, GA; and a great-granddaughter, Adelynn Alford of Tallahassee, FL.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and sisters, Dorothy “Dot” McGraw, Marjorie “Marg” Marsh.

The family will receive friends at the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
