Kenneth Royce Griffin

Funeral services for Kenneth Royce Griffin, 85, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2020, at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Andrew Donaldson and Rev. Jeff Ezell will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Griffin passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

Active pallbearers will be Shay Walden, Tim Bracewell, Chad Norton, Clay Norton, Blake Norton and David Fincannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Yancy Maxwell, James Hawthorne, Carl Lee, Tom Sampson, Gene Benton, John Tillis, Heyward Hollingsworth, Gene Lashley, Glenn Collier and C.T. Bracewell.

Mr. Griffin was born on February 23, 1935, in Orlando, FL, to the late James Rushin Griffin and Corie Mae Chastain Griffin. He served his country in the National Guard. On June 14, 1958, he married Carolyn Norton Griffin, who survives. They were married for over 61 years. He retired as the Superintendent of the Grady County Road Department. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn Norton Griffin of Cairo, GA; sons, James Randall Griffin of Whigham, GA, Michael Kenneth Griffin of Cairo, GA; daughter, Margaret Anita Gardner of Americus, GA; grandchildren, Carley Faith Griffin of Whigham, GA, Leon Gardner of Camilla, GA, Leann Gardner of Alabama; sister, Elaine Sydner of Phoenix, AZ; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; grandchild, Randall Cody Griffin; and 10 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
