Kenneth Vernon Hollingsworth

Funeral services for Kenneth Vernon Hollingsworth, 79, of Whigham, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Trinity Primitive Baptist Church, Whigham, GA.  Elder Tony Marshall will officiate.  Interment will be in Trinity Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA.  Mr. Hollingsworth passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

Active pallbearers will be Sammy Perkins, Lafe Perkins, Lavon Connell, Donald Connell, Greg Ponder, Harley Ponder and Jackie Dodson.

Mr. Hollingsworth was born on May 10, 1943, in Whigham, GA, to the late Gilbert Beebe Hollingsworth, Sr. and Vergie Virginia Willis Hollingsworth.  After high school, Kenneth earned his master’s degree in chemistry.  He was employed as a chemistry teacher, librarian, and later worked with the electronics department at Wal-Mart.  He was a member of the Trinity Primitive Baptist Church in Whigham.

Survivors include: sisters, Carolyn A. Hollingsworth of Bainbridge, GA, Winnie H. Prince of Cairo, GA; brother-in-law, Zack Calhoun of Bainbridge, GA; his sister-in-law, Kay Hollingsworth of Pelham, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; 5 brothers, 2 sisters; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Trinity Primitive Baptist Church.
