Larry Claude Callahan
April 12, 1945 – November 28, 2020

Graveside funeral services for Larry Claude Callahan, 75, of Cairo, GA, are on Thursday, December 3, 2020, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Dale Cooper will officiate.  Mr. Callahan passed away at his home on Saturday, November 28, 2020.

Active pallbearers will be Ron Callahan, Randy Callahan, Robert Callahan and Eric Thatcher.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Callahan, Jordan Morrow, Jacob Callahan, Bryce Callahan and Stormy Thatcher.

Mr. Callahan was born on April 12, 1945, in Cairo, GA, to the late Claude Callahan and Delila Harrison Anderson.  On September 12, 1965, he married Barbara Kay Blackwelder Callahan, who survives.  They were married for over 55 years.  He retired as a mechanic with Grime’s Transmission Repair.

Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Kay Callahan of Cairo, GA; children, Rhonda Morrow of Cairo, GA, Ron Callahan (Tamara) of Apopka, FL, Brenda Thatcher (Eric) of Cairo, GA, Randy Callahan (Cathy) of Ocoee, FL, Robert Callahan (Marianne) of Apopka, FL; grandchildren, Brittany Morrow of Cincinnati, OH, Kirsty Spradley of Cairo, GA, Bradley Callahan of Apopka, FL, Tori Callahan of Apopka, FL, Jordan Morrow (Georgia) of Cairo, GA, Erica Thatcher of Brandon, FL, Jacob Callahan of Ocoee, FL, Bryce Callahan of Apopka, FL, Stormy Thatcher of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Kendra Spradley, Kayleigh Spradley, Delilah Morrow, Kamryn Spradley, Declan Morrow, Koby Spradley, all of Cairo, GA; brother-in-law, Jimmie Laing of Whigham, GA; and nieces, nephews and a host of extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; step-mother, Tince Callahan; step-father, Carlton Anderson; and a sister, Barbara Laing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Callahan’s memory to his wife to help cover expenses.
