Private graveside funeral services for Laura Louise Lashley, 94, of Cairo, GA, will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Rev. Eric Mitchell will officiate. Mrs. Lashley passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Sunday, May 10, 2020.
Active pallbearers will be Dale Thomas, Danny Thomas, Button Thomas, James Lashley, Michael Thomas and Brian Thomas.
Mrs. Lasley was born on November 30, 1925, in Cairo, GA, to the late Henry Sellars and Annie Watts Sellars. On March 21, 1943, she married Ed Lashley, wo preceded her in death on November 3, 2004. She was a homemaker and a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Cairo, GA. Louise was known for her ability to draw family and friends together and she loved to spend her time making delicious home cooked meals for her big family.
Survivors include: daughter, Linda Gailey (Scott) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, James Lashley (Jean) of Thomasville, GA, Rodney Lashley (Ashley) of Cairo, GA, Dana Foss of Thomasville, GA, Dale Thomas (Anita) of Cairo, GA, Danny Thomas (Sandy) of Cairo, GA, Donna Osborn (Jeff)of Cairo, GA, and Button Thomas (TommieAnn) of Cairo, GA; and 18 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren, 1great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by: parents; husband; son, J.C. Lashley; daughter-in-law, Margie Brownlow; brothers, Joe Sellars, Hansell Sellars; sister, Eula May McKown; 4 half-siblings; and her grandchildren, Kayla Thomas, Hannah Osborn.
