Loretta Cook Rawls
August 16, 1938 – April 12, 2025

Funeral services for Loretta Cook Rawls, 86, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Matt Vickers, Rev. Jimmy Ausburn and Rev. Todd Gainous will officiate. Interment will be in the Cairo Cemetery. Mrs. Rawls passed away at home on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Miller, Drew Pyrz, Jack Franklin, Ray Franklin, Larry Cook and David Bedingfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Stacy Watkins, Horry Rawls, Jimmy Cook, Gwinette Mills, Curt VanLandingham, Greg VanLandingham, Raymond Cook, Larry Sanders, Deacons of Eastside Baptist Church, CHS Class Members of 1958, and the Homemaker Sunday School Class Members.
Mrs. Rawls was born on August 16, 1938, in Cairo, GA, to the late Woodrow Cook and Forest Law Cook. On July 14, 1973, she married Leland Stacy Rawls, who preceded her in death on September 3, 2006. They were married for 33 years. Until her retirement, she was a cashier with Davis IGA in Cairo. She was a devoted member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her daughter, Stacie Rawls of Cairo, GA; sister, Virginia Miller of Thomasville, GA; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Julian and Betty Rawls of Cairo, GA, Thersa Cook of East Bend, NC; nephew, Brian Miller (Angie) of Thomasville, GA; niece, Julieann Stone of Barwick, GA; great-niece, Elizabeth Watkins Connell of Cairo, GA; and a host of cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; first husband, Lloyd VanLandingham; her brother, Lawson Cook; nephew, Phillip Miller; and a brother-in-law, Jack Miller.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
