Lucile Hinely Singleton, 93, passed away at her home in Newnan, GA on the evening of November 18, 2020. She was born on January 23, 1927 in Perry, FL to the late Mary and Alexander Campbell Hinely. She is preceded in death in by her husband, Dr. C.K. Singleton, in 2008. After marriage, they lived and loved the town of Cairo, GA where they chose to raise their six children, where they were active in the First United Methodist Church, where they worked, served, played and prayed. Although the people of Cairo never out of their hearts, they moved in December 2005 to Newnan, GA.
Mrs. Singleton is survived by six children, Mary Childs (Buddy), Shirley Beeson (Terry), Charles “Bubba” (Leigh), Tica Spake (Ken), Sue Singleton (Nan), and Jane Stewart (Roger); six grandchildren – George, Chad, Keri, Matthew, Grady, and Yana; and eleven beloved great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Singleton will be missed by so many, those who called her Mama, Mimi, Grandmother, Aunt Lucile, Lucile, Lucy, “Miss” Lucy, or “Lil” Lucy. We will see her daily in the birds that she taught us all to love and appreciate, hear her whispers in our hearts and minds where she taught us to love one another, and always look to the heaven where we know she has gone to her eternal home.
