Private graveside funeral services for Lucille Griner Shiver, 104, of Cairo, GA, will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chris Allen will officiate. Ms. Shiver passed away at Magnolia Place Senior Living in Cairo, GA, on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
Ms. Shiver was born on November 30, 1915, in Cairo, GA, to the late John Pierce Griner and Vera Pipkins Griner. She was employed in the Central Purchasing Office with the Grady County Board of Education before her retirement. She was a member of the Pilot Club and the Garden Club. Ms. Lucille was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cairo and the TEL Sunday School Class. She was active in the Joy Club and Ada Mauldin WOM.
Survivors include: daughters, Beth Shiver Hancock of Cairo, GA, Linda Shiver Bearden (Fred) of Cairo, GA; sons, Gerald Shiver (Nancy) of Tifton, GA, Rick Shiver (Michelle) of Coral Springs, FL; son-in-law, R. B. Gainous of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Terri Perkins (Sammy) of Whigham, GA, Deena Harrell (John) of Whigham, GA, Sherry Brock (Steve) of Vada, GA, Steve Bearden (Tammy) of Tallahassee, FL, Nicole Anderson (Art) of Meigs, GA, Scott Shiver (Tracey) of Tifton, GA, Todd Shiver (Debbie) of Lawrenceville, GA, Stan Shiver of Tallahassee, FL, Clay Shiver of Boca Raton, FL, Trey Gainous (Linda) of Madison, AL, Caitlin Shiver, Lachlan Shiver, Kenzie Shiver, all of Coral Springs, FL; and 19 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 more one the way.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Kay Shiver Gainous; son-in-law, Dee Hancock; and the father of Ms. Shiver’s children, DeLeon Shiver.
