Lucy Pearl Tindell Baxter

Funeral services for Lucy Pearl Tindell Baxter, 80, of Fernandina Beach, FL, formerly of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. She was always known as “Doll.” Chaplin David Cook will officiate. Interment will be in Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mrs. Baxter passed away at Lakeside Nursing Home in Jacksonville, FL, on Monday, October 24, 2016.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Benton, Tony Rogers, Steve Rogers, Rick Rogers, Paul Rogers, Kevin Rogers, Brett Hewett, Phil Baxter and Andy Tharp.
Mrs. Baxter was born on September 15, 1936, in Cottonwood, AL, to the late Robert Tindell and Lola Bell Herring Tindell. On June 4, 1955, she married Edward Lee Baxter, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2014. They were married for 58 years. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Cairo, GA.
Survivors include: daughters, Ann Carlson (Danny) of Cairo, GA, Lisa Baxter of Fernandina Beach, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Benton (Billy) of Sneads, FL, Lorrie Hickey (Brett) of Grand Ridge, FL, Jenny Baxter-Cales (Tricia) of Palm Coast, FL, Lindsey Tharp (Andy) of Monticello, FL; great-grandchildren, Kyle Benton and Alex Benton, both of Sneads, FL; sisters, Trudy Merle Richardson of Montgomery, AL, Lola Gayle Hart of Malone, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and a sister, Bobby Nell Rogers.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., the funeral hour.
