Lynette Prince Simpson
January 8, 1937 – February 16, 2023

Graveside funeral services for Lynette Prince Simpson, 86, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Jeff Ezell will officiate.  Ms. Simpson passed away at her home on Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Active pallbearers will be Fletcher Powe, Dyllon Powe, Lamar Prince, Robin Prince, Cody Kearns and Wayne Turner.

Ms. Simpson was born on January 8, 1937, in Cairo, GA, to the late Thomas B. Prince and Lillie Mae Oaks Prince.  She retired as an inspector with the Torrington Company.  She was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church and often attended Long Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her children, Diane Willis (Lee) of Winterville, GA, Marty Powe (Pam) of Cairo, GA, Darrell Rich (Eva) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Fletcher Powe (Julie) of Meigs, GA, Dyllon Powe (Hillary) of Cairo, GA, Ashley Rich of Valdosta, GA, Brittney Turner (Wayne) of Ocilla, GA, Cody Kearns of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Riley Powe, Reaghan Powe, Caitlun Blanchard, Sadie Rich, Bentley Cook, Halleigh Mae Turner, Cody Lee Kearns; brothers, Royce Prince of Cairo, GA, Glynn Prince of Augusta, GA; sister, Judy O’Neil of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; grandson, Michael Brown; sisters, Lorene Spruiell, Agnes Barrett, Monteene Fowler; and brothers, Wilburn Prince, Joe Prince.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Union Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
