Funeral services for Mallie Lou Wimberly Pollock, 89, of the Delwood Community, are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Delwood Baptist Church, 480 Delwood Church Road, Camilla, GA 31730. Rev. Andy Hall and Rev. David Pickering will officiate. Services will conclude in the church. Private interment will be in Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Pollock passed away at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA, on Sunday, January 20, 2019.
Active pallbearers will be Sam Dean, Dewitt Phillips, Jerry Pollock, Jimmy Pollock, Kevin Dawson and Derek McGinnis. Honorary pallbearers will be J E. Foister, Harry Sullivan, Keith Brock and Treavor Pollock.
Mrs. Pollock was born on March 10, 1929, in Bainbridge, GA, to the late Duvewood Wimberly and Martha Linnie Sapp Wimberly. On November 6, 1943, she married Nathan William Pollock, who preceded her in death on September 15, 2016. They were married for 72 years. She retired after a working career as a seamstress with Darwood Manufacturing and later in her life as a caregiver.
Survivors include: her children, William Durwood Pollock (Priscilla) of Leesburg, GA, Alice Winland (Jeff) of Camilla, GA; grandchildren, Michael McElroy (Nen) of Carlsbad, CA, Christopher McElroy of Redmond, WA, Valarie Allen (Trevor) of Leesburg, GA, Katie Dixon (Darrell) of Blackshear, GA; great-grandchildren, Willow McElroy, Meadow McElroy, both of Carlsbad, CA, Trey Dixon of Blackshear, GA; sisters, Fannie Boutwell (Roy) of Climax, GA, Mary Archer (Jack) of Pensacola, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and her siblings, Robert Wimberly (Francis), Willie Rufus “Buck” Wimberly (Rosa Lee), Willard Wimberly (Vinnie), Pearlie Mae Wimberly (Clarence Dean), Lawson Wimberly (Louise).
