Mamie Griner Horton

Funeral services for Mamie Griner Horton, 86, of Cairo, GA, are on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Horton passed away at her home on Friday, October 23, 2020.
Active pallbearers will be Larry Bell, Dillon Sholar, Eli Bell, Steve Fuller, Brody Fuller and Matthew Kines.
Mrs. Horton was born on August 26, 1934, in Cairo, GA, to the late William R. Griner and Nola Kelly Griner. On July 27, 1951, she married Ben Hill (Pete) Horton, who preceded her in death on January 2, 2010. They were married for 58 years. Mamie was a loving wife and mother. She worked in shipping production with Warner’s of Thomasville and later with the Grady County Board of Education. She was a member of the Pine Level Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and John Bell of Panama City, FL, Mary Ann and Stacy Duren of Panama City Beach, FL, Margaret and Robbie Sholar of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Larry Bell of Chipley, FL, Lori and Steve Fuller of Pineville, LA, Lana and Tom Sherman of Panama City, FL, Matthew and Julayma Kines of Acworth, GA, Dillon and Mallory Sholar of Tallahassee, FL, Emalee and Grady Womble of Cairo, GA, Kayla and Rodolfo De La Rosa of Marietta, GA, Shelly Duren of Atlanta, GA, Sam Duren of Marietta, GA; great-grandchildren, Eli Bell of Chipley, FL, Brody Fuller of Pineville, LA, Savannah Pate of Panama City, FL, Kai Sholar of Tallahassee, FL, Penelope Kines, Xander Kines, both of Acworth, GA, Mia De La Rosa of Marietta, GA, Isabella Duren of Marietta, GA; and host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; grandson, Daniel W. Kines, III; brother, William R. Griner, Jr.; and a sister, Ruby G. Harrison.
