Margaret Ione Reid
July 31, 1921 – March 23, 2016

Margaret Ione Reid, 94, of Apopka, FL, passed away at Florida Hospital Apopka on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Interment will be in the Cairo Cemetery in Cairo, GA.

Mrs. Reid was born on July 31, 1921, in Lloyd, FL, to the late Howard Cooksey and Lelia Catollia Kidd Cooksey. She graduated from Monticello High School. On June 28, 1964, she married Rev. Carlton Francis Reid, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 22, 1997. Rev. Reid served many churches in the South Georgia area for 40 years before his death. Margaret was there by his side in service to the United Methodist Churches. Margaret was one of the finest spellers in the world and was always there willing to help the children and grandchildren with their spelling.

Survivors include: sons, Howard Murray “Rusty” Pendleton (Gail) of Bossier City, LA, William Thomas Pendleton (Stephanie) of Apopka, FL; daughter, Betty Jean Pendleton of Apopka, FL; grandchildren, William Pendleton, II, Garrick Brooks, Brad Ryan, Jan Michael Pendleton, Kenny Pendleton, Billy Gore, Brent Pendleton; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 9 brother and sisters.
