Funeral services for Margie Ann Richardson, 75, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jay Bentley will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Richardson passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 11, 2024.
Mrs. Richardson was born on October 18, 1948, in Paw Paw, WV, to the late Mid Cletus Chilcott and Ethel Chilcott. On October 4, 1976, she married John Richardson, who survives. They were married over 48 years. She was a long-time employee of the Grady County Sherriff’s Department where she served as a lieutenant and later worked in sales for Advance Auto Parts for over 20 years. Throughout her life she enjoyed drag racing where she was a Champion Drag Racer.
Survivors include: her husband, John Richardson of Cairo, GA; daughter, Julie Simmons (Roy) of Cairo, GA; step-children, Tammy Richardson, Chris Richardson, both of North Carolina; grandchildren, Callie Sellers (Cory) of Thomasville, GA, Amanda Toliver (Thomas) of Climax, GA, Arielle Harden (Tyler) of Ochlocknee, GA, Jonathon Simmons of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Christian, Camdon, Claire, McKenna, Brayle, Allie, Chandler, Avery, Adelyn; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; sons, Larry Cletus “Butch” Christie, Charles William “Chuckie” Christie; her daughter, Rocket Ann Christie; and her sisters, Mona, Jerilyn and Cathy.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
