Funeral services for Marlene Sellars Ricks, 76, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2018, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Ernie Beckwith will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be in Springhill Christian Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA. Mrs. Ricks passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Friday, October 26, 2018.
Mrs. Ricks was born on July 28, 1942, in Cairo, GA, to the late Sampson Sellars and Eva Mae Wilson Sellars. She was married to Tommy Joe Ricks, who preceded her in death on December 26, 1995. She was a seamstress with Ithaca Industries, Inc. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: her children, Thomas J. Ricks of Cairo, GA, Wendell Ricks (Kathy) of Cairo, GA, Violet Miller (Chris) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Joseph Sellars, Sabrina Morey (Kenneth), both of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Briana Morey, Ethan Morey, both of Cairo, GA; brothers, Buddy Sellars of Cairo, GA, Ronald Sellars (Jo Ann) of Albany, GA, Durwood Sellars (Connie) of Whigham, GA; sisters, Doris Sexton of Whigham, GA, Francis Bush of Thomasville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and sisters, Geraldine Samples, Bernice Ponder, Annibelle Bridges.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the funeral service.
