Funeral services for Mary Frances Mobley Vickers, 88, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2016, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Larry Thomas Odum will officiate. Interment will be in Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Vickers passed away at her daughter’s home in Grady County, GA, on Thursday, July 21, 2016.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Mrs. Vickers was born on October 14, 1927, in Cairo, GA, to the late Elbert Mobley and Mary Lizzie Mathis Mobley. On September 25, 1947, she married Jesse Wilson Vickers, who preceded her in death on May 21, 1989. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: daughters, Patsy Irvin (DeVon) of Cairo, GA, Debbie Henley of Tallahassee, FL, Peggy Hancock of Cairo, GA, Teresa Phelps (Gary) of Pelham, GA, Kathy Sellars of Cairo, GA; sons, Ricky Vickers of Cairo, GA, David Vickers (Terie) of Cairo, GA, Jimmy Vickers (Pam) of Cairo, GA; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Tull (Harold) of Lee Summit, MO, Joanne Tompkins of Lawrenceville, GA; brother, Jerry Mobley of Gray Court, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: parents; husband; son, Jesse Larry Vickers; daughter, Linda Jeanette Spence; several grandchildren; brothers, Fred Mobley, Howard Mobley; and sisters, Alice Mobley, Ellen Mobley, Helen Mobley.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
