Memorial services for Melvie Ann Sholar Munroe, 78, of Quincy, FL, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St Peter’s Anglican Church, Tallahassee, FL. Father Michael Petty will officiate. Committal services will reconvene at 1:15 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Munroe passed away at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, FL, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Mrs. Munroe was born on April 6, 1947, in Cairo, GA, to the late John Melvin Sholar and Louise Faircloth Sholar. On February 23, 1990, she married George Lamar Munroe, III. She was employed with Cairo High School for several years. She retired as a secretary and bookkeeper for the family business.

Survivors include: her husband, George Lamar Munroe, III of Quincy, FL; sons, Jack Matthew Williams (Jill) of Richmond, VA, George Lamar Munroe, IV, of Quincy, FL, Benjamin Matthew Munroe (Katie) of Havana, FL; and grandchildren, Hayes Williams, Carter Williams, both of Richmond, VA, Taylor Munroe, Madeline Munroe, Wallace Munroe, all of Marianna, FL, Forest Munroe of Quincy, FL, Laura Munroe, Ginger Munroe, Roxie Munroe, all of Havana, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Lousie Sholar.
