Naomi Carlton White

Funeral services for Naomi Carlton White, 96, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2024, at Pine Park Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate. The family will receive friends at Pine Park Baptist Church before the service, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. White passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

Active pallbearers will be Zane Connell, Luke Connell, Edsell Bone, Brian Kirby and Ever Umanzor.

Mrs. White was born on April 12, 1928, in Madison, Ohio, to the late Park T. Carlton and Nellie Farrell Carlton. On November 12, 1949, she married, Edward Aldredge White, who preceded her in death on January 23, 1973. A lover of pets, Mrs. White built a successful business in dog grooming. A talented musician, she was a pianist and organist at numerous churches, principally at Pine Park Baptist Church where she was a devoted and beloved member for many years, known for her always stylish Sunday apparel.

Survivors include: her daughters, Beverly Cook (Jimmy) of Cairo, GA, Peggy Connell (David) of Cairo, GA, Susan Green (Randy) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Haley Kirby (Brian) of Davenport, FL, Brittney Green of Valdosta, GA, Emilee Umanzor (Ever) of Cairo, GA, Zane Connell (Casey) of Cairo, GA, Luke Connell of Mexico City, Sarah Connell of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Maggie Kirby, Sadie Kirby, Brenan Umanzor, Josiah Umanzor, Abigail Umanzor, Austin Connell, Cole Connell, Brady Connell, Kate Connell; brother, Wayne Carlton (Joyce) of Virginia; sister-in-law, Thelma Carlton of Lakeland, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. She is also survived by her beloved rescue dog, Bunny.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a brother, Arthur Carlton; and great-granddaughter, Emma Umanzor.
