Norman Kermit Kelly

Funeral services for Norman Kermit Kelly, 84, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Matt Vickers will officiate. Services will conclude in the chapel. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Kelly passed away at Archbold Living-Cairo, on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Active pallbearers will be Nick Hutchinson, Hull Krech, Jr., Tim Merritt, David Strickland, Greg Costner, Glenn Robinson and Marty Thomas.

Mr. Kelly was born on January 15, 1941, in Cairo, GA, to the late Norman Thomas Kelly and Thelma Lillian Butler Kelly. On July 2, 1960, he married Evelyn Thomas Kelly. They were married for over 64 years. He served his country in the National Guard. He retired after 38 years as a lineman with the City of Cairo Utilities Department. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: his wife, Evelyn Kelly of Cairo, GA; children, “Alan” Keith Kelly (Bernice), Kevin Kelly (Deborah), both of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Wanda Jones (Tommy) of Cleveland, GA, Alyssa Shindel (Bret), Dusty Kelly, Katherine Kelly, Zachary Kelly, Trinity Costner, all of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Thea Rose Shindel, Chloe Folsom, Everleigh Costner, all of Cairo, GA; brother, Kenneth Kelly (Annette) of Thomasville, GA; sisters, Elaine Merritt of Tallahassee, FL, Gwen Robinson of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dorothy Jean Hutchinson, Maxine Pisano.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
