Mrs. Crawford was born on October 5, 1938, in Cairo, GA, to the late Thomas Clyde Hancock and Velma Ruth Willis Hancock. At the age of 6 years old, her future husband, Howard Crawford, taught her how to ride a bike. “Jeri” and Howard were married on February 8, 1955. At the age of 17 years old, she joined her husband and traveled the world as an Air Force spouse. Years later, she entered the workforce and enjoyed jobs from bookkeeping to boat plant manager; but waitressing was her favorite of all.
Her devotion to family and a firm belief in God supported her through cancer, heart and lung disease and ultimately gave her peace. She was a loving mother and homemaker and enjoyed preparing meals and cakes for her family and church functions. She loved and adored all her family. There was a very special place in her heart for her many nieces, and nephews, and also her church family, Long Branch Baptist Church. She will be missed dearly; but her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and loving soul will live in our hearts forever.
