Patricia “Pat” Arline Manny

Funeral services for Patricia “Pat” Arline Manny, 84, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018, at First United Methodist Church of Cairo, GA. Rev. Richard Soper and Rev. Christy Bandy will officiate. Interment will be private in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Manny passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, GA, on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.
Active pallbearers will be Dale Helms, Roy Jones, Gordon Clyatt, Hill Smith, Dick Porter, Mike Mills, Sgt. Nathan Greene and Specialist Josh Ballroe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Sellars, Jeffery Harrell, Freddie Lyle, Billy Wind, Heywood Mason, Harold Ragan, Gene Maddox, Charles Giddens, Charles Graham, Walter Maxwell, Ray Butler, Larry Higdon, Everett Allen and Al Ward.
Mrs. Manny was born on June 14, 1934, in Cairo, GA, to the late Thomas Alton Arline and Lois Aldredge Arline. She graduated Salutatorian of Cairo High School in 1952. She then attended Mercer University and Valdosta State College where she became a Phi Mu Sorority Sister and was voted May Queen and Miss Congeniality. On December 5, 1956, she married Charles Pope Manny, who survives. Mrs. Pat retired from a long teaching career with the Grady County School System. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Cairo and had previously been a member of Golden K, Garden Club and the Woman’s Club.
Survivors include: her husband of 61 years, Charles Pope Manny of Cairo, GA; daughter, Lois Manny Hunkele (Joe) of Bronwood, GA; son, Richard Pope Manny of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Sgt. Charles Nathan Greene, Mary Margaret Ballroe (Josh), McKenzie Elizabeth Greene, Ciara Nicole Manny; and sister-in-law, Lucy Arline of Renton, WA.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; and a brother, James Alton Arline.

The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the church Fellowship Hall.
