Patsy McLendon Hopkins
May 4, 1939 – February 28, 2023

Memorial services for Patsy McLendon Hopkins, 83, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Cairo, GA.  Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate.  Mrs. Hopkins passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

Mrs. Hopkins was born on May 4, 1939, in Nashville, GA, to the late Roger McLendon and Pauline Cooper McLendon.  On April 16, 1961, she married Johnny Hopkins, who survives.  She was a retired bookkeeper.

Survivors include: her husband, Johnny Hopkins of Cairo, GA; children, Frankie Smith of Cairo, GA, Nancie McCarty of Cairo, GA, Johnny Hopkins, Jr. (Michele) of Erie, PA; grandchildren, Millie Rouse, Walt Rouse of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchild, Liam “Rooster” Roberson of Cairo, GA; brother, Kenneth McLendon (Beverly) of Nashville, GA; sisters, Nancy Shiver (Jerry) of Tifton, GA, Nina Nicholson of Thomasville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Charles McLendon; and sons-in-law, Douglas Smith, Mac McCarty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Hopkins’ memory to: Shriners Hospitals for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church sanctuary.
