Mr. Pope was born on March 18, 1958, in Bainbridge, GA, to the late Perry Lamar Pope and the late Drucilla Sanders Pope. On May 15, 1993, he married Lorraine Harrison Pope, who survives. He was a beef livestock and poultry producer.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Harrison Pope of Whigham, GA; daughter, Alaina Suzanne Pope (Drew) of Valdosta, GA; son, Jackson Harrison Pope of Statesboro, GA; brothers, Richard Pope (Eve) of Cairo, GA and Mark Pope of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Jesse Norman of Whigham, GA and Michael Pope (Cori) of Cairo, GA; niece, Kayla Culleny (Luke) of Savannah, GA; sister-in-law, Beverly Rohan of Whigham, GA; brothers-in-law, Thomas Harrison (Gail) of Dublin, GA and Lee Wilkes (Sue) of Cairo, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
