Funeral services for Richard W. Moore, 86, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. John Paul Hasick and Rev. Rod Brinkley will officiate. Private family interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Moore passed away at his residence, Cairo, GA, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Active pallbearers will be Chad Johnson, Tony Strenth, Allen Strenth, Ralph Moore, Jr., Tim Moore and Mark Giddons.

Mr. Moore was born on June 2, 1938, in Worth County, GA, to the late Homer M. Moore, Sr. and Mattie Clifford Nipper Moore. On December 30, 1967, he married Glenda Welch Moore, who survives. He served in the US Army, retired from UPS after 30 years and was a member of Whigham Community Club and Long Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; children, Carla Moore Dorman of Tamarac, FL, Huddie Harrell (Josine) of Cairo, GA and Shelly Moore Davie (Scott) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Taylor Dorman, Morgan Chunn (Jordan), Madison Akridge (Tyler), Christy Dorman and Emily Harrell; great-grandchildren, Emmitt Chunn and Mila Chunn; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Hulett Elton Moore, Wylene Moore Strenth, John Henry “Johnny” Moore, Margaret Moore Pendley, Elneta Moore Gay, Ralph Monroe Moore, Homer M. Moore, Jr. and Uldean Moore.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
