Robert K. “Bob” Anderson

Funeral services for Robert K. “Bob” Anderson, 79, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Charles Darus and Rev. Christy Bandy will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Anderson passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
Active pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Honor Guard.
Mr. Anderson was born on July 29, 1940, in Eau Claire, WI, to the late Kenneth K. Anderson and Annette Demorest Marten. On January 31, 1969, he married Louise Jones Anderson, who survives. He served his country in the United States Navy for 25 years. He retired as a Lt. Commander. He was a member of Kiwanis, Habitat for Humanity, Board Member of Cairo Country Club, Grady General Support League, City of Cairo Housing Authority. Robert was a reader for the Grady County Quiz Bowl and 2008 Grady County Community Service Award winner. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cairo.
Survivors include: wife, Louise Jones Anderson of Cairo, GA; children, Barbara McEnturff of Bainbridge, GA, Carol McKinney (James, Jr.) of Williston, FL, Robert K. Anderson, Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX, Barbara Darus of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Laura Anderson of Thomasville, GA, Michael Anderson of California, Christian Armentor of Cairo, GA, Lauren Collins of Houlton, ME, Kristen Collins of Manchester, NH, Michael Collins of Richmond, VA, Robert Anderson, III, of New Iberia, LA, Taylor Landry (Zach) of Youngsville, LA, Steffanie Pattillo (Heath) of New Iberia, LA, Richard Beard of New Iberia, LA Charles Darus (Carolyn) of Kissimmee, FL, Victoria Harper (Kyle) of Savannah, GA, John Darus of Cairo, GA; 19 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Becky Knickerbocker (Gerald) of Minnesota, Louise Brainard (Jim) of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Angela Marie Anderson; grandson, Christian Anderson; brother, Kirby Anderson; and a sister, Dr. Susan Kline.

The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
