Funeral Services for Robert Lee “Bobby” Jones, 77, of Whigham, GA, are at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2019, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. The family will receive friends after the service at the Chapel. Private burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham, GA.

Bobby passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. The family would like to thank the many kind people from Kindred Home Health & Hospice who helped care for him and us during our times of need.

He was born on April 5, 1942, in Lucedale, MS, to the late R.J. and Florence Jones. On March 25, 1961, he married Vivian Blanks Jones, who survives. They were married 58 years. He was a member of the Cairo Church of Christ, and he loved the Lord.

Bobby retired from Torrington after 15 years as a machinist. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and was an avid hunter. Being a great storyteller, he loved to share those memories and many other stories with anyone who would listen.

Survivors include: his wife, Vivian Jones of Whigham, GA; sons, Steve Jones (Melissa) of Tallahassee, FL, David Jones of Whigham, GA, Mike Jones of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Savannah Jones and Joshua Jones of Tallahassee, FL, Bryan Jones and Emily Jones of Chigasaki, Japan; and a sister, Polly Blanks of Lake City, FL. He also leaves behind a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his infant son Timothy, his parents, and numerous sisters and brothers.
