Robert Maynard Johnson

Graveside funeral services for Robert Maynard Johnson, 82, of Wimauma, FL, are at 3:00 p.m., August, 8, 2021, in Capel Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Stan Godwin will officiate.  Mr. Johnson passed away at his home on Sunday, August 1, 2021.

Mr. Johnson was born on March 2, 1939, in Cairo, GA, to the late Amon Talton Johnson and Annie Mae Hester Johnson.  He served his country in the United States Army.  On April 12, 1960, he married Delores Dale Willis Johnson, who preceded him in death on October 15, 2015.  He was a self-employed farmer until his retirement.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: his children, Tina Michele Howell (Frank) of Wimauma, FL, Robert M. “Bob” Johnson (Tracy) of Tucson, AZ, Chad L. Johnson (Mollie) of Port St. Joe, FL; grandchildren, Zane Layton of Tallahassee, FL, Ryan Layton of Tampa, FL, Shelby Parsons (Paul) of Vail, AZ, Art Johnson of Mesa, AZ, Noah Johnson (Caitlyn) of Germany, Kensie Johnson of Port St. Joe, FL, Cassidi Long of Baconton, GA, Jay Poppell of Pelham, GA; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Layton, Ryan Layton, Sadie Parsons, Simeon Parsons, Cayde Long, Haivyn Long; and a brother, Jonah Johnson of Atlanta, GA.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; brother, Amon Johnson; and sister, Mona Parrot.
