Rodger Lee Timmons
May 15, 1944 – February 1, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodger Lee Timmons of Cairo, GA, on February 1st, 2017. Rodger was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on May 15th, 1944. He later moved to Martin County, Florida where he met his greatest catch, Dorice Solomon Timmons, who survives. Rodger and Dorice have been married for 51 years, June 12th, 1965.
They raised 5 daughters, who also survive, Dorice (Paul Tolve) Timmons, Patricia Timmons and Roberta Johnson of Stuart, Florida; Rebecca (Hank) Landry of Quincy, Florida and Catherine (Warren) Silvers of Ft. Drum, Florida. He is also survived by his brothers Rick (Tracey) Timmons of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Ronald (Peewee) Timmons of Port Salerno, Florida; a son-in-law, Lonnie Hartley; 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, John (Debra) Solomon, Tommy Solomon and Mike Solomon; sisters-in-law, Sandra McMullen, Rose Manasco and Norie Solomon; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Emery Timmons, Essie Timmons and Leta Timmons; a great-grandson, Aiden Lee Timmons; mother and father-in-law, Allen and Dorice Solomon; three brothers-in-law, Allen, Freddie and Jimmy Solomon; one sister-in-law, Cathy Solomon Moses; and one nephew, John David Solomon, Jr.
Rodger spent his free time being the greatest bass fisherman in the world and the best husband and father to his family. He will truly be missed.
