Rosalind Monk Lastinger
February 8, 1937 – December 12, 2024

Graveside funeral services for Rosalind Monk Lastinger, 87, of Suwanee, GA, formerly of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 20, 2024, at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 6623 Lower Meigs Road, Meigs, GA 31765. Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate. Interment will be in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Lastinger passed away at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital, Roswell, GA, on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

The youngest of 13 children, Mrs. Lastinger was born on February 8, 1937, in Moultrie, GA, to the late Jeremiah Bryant Monk and Balma Stephenson Monk. On July 25, 1955, she married Clarence Truman Lastinger, who survives, and they were married for over 69 years. She worked alongside her husband, who owned Truman’s Drug Store in Cairo for 36 years. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Truman Lastinger of Suwanee, GA; children, Laura Sue Crockett (David) of Milledgeville, GA, Karen Robertson (John) of Duluth, GA and Travis Lastinger (Gail) of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Rebecca Silvernail (Cory) of Macon, GA, Truman Crockett (Andersen) of Milledgeville, GA, Laura Rebecca Delhomme of Falls Church, VA, Krista Robertson of Atlanta, GA and Jonathan Pempek (Grace) of West Palm Beach, FL; great-grandchildren, Taylor Silvernail of Macon, GA, Nora Crockett of Milledgeville, GA and J.J. Pempek of West Palm Beach, FL. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her twelve siblings, Stanley Monk, Infant Monk, Ivan Monk, Jeremiah Bryant Monk, Jr., Remer Monk, Rev. Rufus Monk. Miles Lavar Monk, Sr., Kenneth Monk, David Monk, Susan Elizabeth Fort, Marion Monk, Sr. and Rachel Smithwick Davis.
