Ruth Conn Davis

Graveside funeral services for Ruth Conn Davis, 88, of Cairo, GA, are at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, December 13, 2015, in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Thomasville, GA. Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate. Mrs. Davis passed away at her home in Cairo, GA, on Thursday, December 10, 2015.

Mrs. Davis was born on March 27, 1927, in Mashulaville, MS, to the late John Madison Conn, Sr. and Ethel Cardin Conn. In May of 1952, she married Jack Alexander Davis, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 19, 2015. She worked for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper in several locations and most recently with her husband in his automotive repair business. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Thomasville and a member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: son, Jack Davis, Jr. of Cairo, GA; daughters, Sandra Edington of Tallahassee, FL, Daphne Penrose (Edwin) of Birmingham, AL; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Conn of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, J. M. Conn, Jr.; and sisters, Martha Kulhlke, Mary Hardin, Jeannie Holley.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, December 12, 2015, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
