Funeral services for Shelby Faye Lovely, 15, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Cairo Church of God, Cairo, GA. Pastor DeWayne Atkinson will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Miss Lovely passed away in Cairo, GA, on Sunday, February 25, 2018.
Active pallbearers will be Presten Lovely, Daniel Lewis, Nathan Lewis, Bryan Blackwell, Michael Hutson and Matthew Lynn.
Miss Lovely was born on December 13, 2002, in Canton, GA, to Jason Lovely and Amanda Hutson Castleberry. She was a student at Cairo High School and a member of the Cairo Church of God. She was a member of the CHS Navy Junior ROTC and a member of Ignite Student Ministries of the Cairo Church of God. She was baptized with her mother in 2013. Shelby was super-smart, with plans for dual enrollment at Cairo High and also working toward a nursing career as a NICU nurse after her baby brother, A. J., was born. In preparation for NICU training, she wrote an essay on the work of NICU nurses. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time together with them. Her hobbies included reading, drawing and shopping. Her smile lit up the room and she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: mother, Amanda Hutson Castleberry (Allen) of Cairo, GA; father, Jason Lovely of Dublin, GA; brothers, Presten Lovely of Valdosta, GA, Brent Lovely of Cairo, GA, Allen James Castleberry, III, of Cairo, GA; grandparent, Joe Hutson of Blackville, SC; aunt, Amy Lynn (Jared) of Seymour, TN; cousins, Bryson Lynn, Ellis Lynn, both of Seymour, TN; great-aunt Teresa Lewis (Jerry) of Ft. Myers, FL; great-grandmothers, Elizabeth Hutson of Blackville, SC, and Vera Faye Flint of Fort Myers, FL.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, O’Neal Hutson.
