Stella Smith Fulghum
January 24, 1931 – January 22, 2024

Funeral services for Stella Smith Fulghum, 92, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Cairo Church of God, Cairo, GA.  Pastor Mike Pillow will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.  Mrs. Fulghum passed away at Willson Hospice House, Albany, GA, on Tuesday, January 22, 2024.

Mrs. Fulghum was born on January 24, 1931, in Meigs, GA, to the late Slaton Jackson Smith and Eva Simmons Smith.  She was married to Nathan R. Fulghum who preceded her in death on November 19, 1978.

She was a retired registered nurse and was a member at Cairo Church of God.

Survivors include:  her son, Jackie Fleetwood (Terri) of Bainbridge, GA; grandsons, Ben Fleetwood (Morgan) of Dunwoody, GA and Marc Fleetwood (Morgan) of Lawrenceville GA; great-grandchildren, Brooks Fleetwood, Bryce Fleetwood and Andrew Fleetwood, all of Dunwoody, GA; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by:  her husband; parents; daughter, Wanda Jean Fulghum; and brothers, Slaton Smith, Jr., James Smith, Curtis Smith and Donald Smith.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Smith’s memory to:  Cairo Church of God, 301 Pavillion Road Cairo, GA 39828.

The family will receive friends at Cairo Church of God immediately following the service.
