Steve A. McCoy
March 28, 1950 – August 2, 2017

Steve A. McCoy, 67, of Ochlocknee, GA, passed away at his home in Grady County, on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. The family and friends will have a cookout at his home on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. to celebrate his life.

Mr. McCoy was born on March 28, 1950, in Bolivar, TN, to the late Archie McCoy and Lela Gasser McCoy. He served his country in the United States Army. On Jan. 14, 1980, he married Karen Burchfield McCoy, who survives. He retired as technology director with Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville, GA. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: his wife of 37 years, Karen McCoy of Ochlocknee, GA; daughters, Toni Williams of Collierville, TN, Tonya Stamps (David) of Coolidge, GA; sons, Steve Abner McCoy, II (Lori) of Tallahassee, FL, Travis McCoy (Lauren) of Ochlocknee, GA; 12 grandchildren, 3, great-grandchildren; brother, Timothy McCoy (Sherry) of Pelham, GA; sisters, Penny Etue of Zachary, LA, Maxine Fowler of Zachary, LA, Kay Hanks of Sikeston, MO, Teresa Foster of Cairo, GA, Bernice Bassinger, of Sikeston, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and brothers, Rodney McCoy, Kenneth McCoy.
