Terrence M. “Terry” Carraway

Graveside funeral services for Terrence M. “Terry” Carraway, 80, of Cairo, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Rev. Wesley Criswell will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post #122 Honor Guard. Mr. Carraway passed away at his home in Cairo, GA, on Saturday, May 13, 2017.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Simmons, Scott Hurst, Nathaniel Williams and Mac Thompson.

Mr. Carraway was born on October 3, 1936, in Fort Myers, FL, to the late Winston Carraway and Lucille L. Hall Carraway. On December 27, 1955, he married Claire Katherine Carraway, who preceded him in death on June 11, 2015. He served his country in the United States Air Force with twenty-two years of service and two tours in Viet Nam. He worked for and retired from the FAA after completing his military career.

Survivors include: daughter, Cathy Evers (Carl) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Kristy Criswell (Wesley) of Columbiana, AL, Todd Rojas of Jacksonville, FL, Brian Hudson of Columbiana, AL, Derek Hudson of Columbiana, AL; brothers, Winston Carraway (Frances) of Cairo, GA, James Carraway (Linda) of Miami, FL; sisters, Claire Washington (Gary) of Eustis, FL, Lorraine Thomas of Lehigh Acres, FL.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; and daughter, Teresa Hudson.

The family will receive friends in Forest Lawn Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
