Terry Lee Brown
June 15, 1948 – December 3, 2024

Graveside Services for Terry Lee Brown, of Crawfordville, FL, will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cairo, GA. Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate. Mr. Brown passed away at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Terry was born in Grants Pass Oregon on Jun 15, 1948, to the late Elias Bruce Brown and Lelan Lucille Brown. He graduated high school in Medford Oregon then attended Oregon State University until he was called to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972. Terry was discharged from Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, FL, where he was the first person to rent 10 speed bikes on the beach. He later moved to Tallahassee, FL and attended TCC then transferred to Florida State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems in 1981. Terry helped raise money for the Seminole Boosters for over 17 years. Two of those years he served as the chairman for the National Fund Raising Committee. Terry was a die-hard Seminole fan, having had the same seats at Doak Campbell Stadium for 43 years. Terry was the first male in the State of Florida to receive custody of a minor daughter under the age of 10 in 1979.

Terry’s passion was hunting deer, elk and wild hogs. He served for many years with the National Wild Turkey Federation Apalachee Longbeards Chapter. In his later years he became a Hunt Master with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation commission and volunteered with The Future of Hunting in Florida. He spent many weekends with new hunters, children and adults, hunting deer and squirrels. Terry also served as a consultant with the National Center for State Courts in Denver Colorado. After seven years of extensive travel he moved back to Florida and took a position with the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate. He retired from Private consulting in 2016.

Survivors include: his wife of 30 years, Anne Cook Brown, Crawfordville, FL; his daughter Stephanie Houston (Dan), Tallahassee, FL; his Step-son, Shawn Harrison (Erika) Cairo, GA; his grandchildren, Hunter Baxley (Katy), Whigham, GA, Judson Harrison, Cairo, GA; his great grandson, Stetson Baxley, Whigham, GA; his nephews, Chad Shannon (Wanda), Newark, TX, Ike Shannon (Kim), Arlington, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Fred Shannon.
