Thomas Clay Strickland
October 19, 1973 – July 2, 2024

Funeral services for Thomas Clay Strickland, 50, Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. William Hurst will officiate.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, GA.  Mr. Strickland passed away at Archbold Hospital, Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Trulock, Jason Pyles, Kevin Harrison, Phillip Palmer, Scott Ferguson and Fred Wilder. 

Mr. Strickland was born on October 19, 1973, in Thomasville, GA, to the late Don Michael Strickland, Sr. and Jean Collins Strickland, who survives.  He was a supervisor with the City of Cairo and was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church.

Clay was a dedicated family man who loved his family deeply.  He adored spending time with the love of his life, Annie, and also with his two sons.  An avid fisherman, he spent any free time at the coast.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Jean Moore Strickland, who he married on November11, 2000, sons, Jack Strickland and Kolby Strickland; mother, Jean Collins Strickland; brothers, Michael Strickland (Christa), all of Whigham, GA, and Ray Strickland (Angelia) of Waycross, GA; nieces and nephews, Kaysee Strickland Maxam of Cairo, GA, Katelyn Strickland of Whigham, GA, Zachary Strickland (Maddy) of Waycross, GA; Heather Torress (Michael) of Cairo, GA, Amanda Kines (Josh) of Whigham, GA, Katy Buckhalter (Hunter) of Whigham, GA, Matthew Bowling of Whigham, GA and Gina Hopwood of Cairo; as well as a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and other extended family.  He is also survived by a bonus son, Austin Mobley, of Whigham, GA

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, George and Leola Strickland, Charlie and Effie Collins; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leon and Jeanie Moore.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
