Funeral services for Thomas Maxwell “Mac” Sanders, 64, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Johnny Burdick will officiate. Interment will be in Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mr. Sanders passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Sunday, March 6, 2016.

Active pallbearers will be Earl Strickland, Ben Strickland, Brandon Poitevint, Andy Poitevint, Stacey Sanders and Jason Sanders.

Mr. Sanders was born on November 27, 1951, in Whigham, GA, to the late R. W. Sanders and Edith Harrison Sanders, who survives. He was a maintenance supervisor with Oil-Dri Corporation of Georgia in Ochlocknee, GA. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: son, Robert Sanders (Jessica) of Sale City, GA; daughter, Misty Elliott (Steve) of Huntsville, AL; step-daughter, Jessica Wilson of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, C. J. Edwards of Sale City, GA, Allayna Sanders of Cairo, GA, Gracie Sanders of Cairo, GA, Raevan Edwards of Sale City, GA, Lynlee Sanders of Sale City, GA, Ben Elliott of Huntsville, AL, Catie Elliott of Huntsville, AL; mother, Edith Harrison Sanders of Whigham, GA; sister-in-law, Marlene Sanders of Whigham, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his father, R. W. Sanders; and brothers, James Sanders, Bobby Sanders.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
